What is Cold Laser Treatment?
The cold laser was developed over 30 years ago as a light healing method. Cold Laser therapy is designed to treat back, neck and joint pain aswell as migranes and neuropathy and arthritis.
Cold Laser therapy uses low levels of light intensity, unlike normal laser therapy which delivers high levels of light intensity. Cold Laser therapy on the other hand is usually referred to as being very similar to acupuncture.
There is a vast variation the types of lasers used. Some of the lasers have that low intensity that they are not much more than LED lights (Light Emitting Diodes), wavenlenghts only vary between 600 and 1000nm from 5-500 milliwatts unlike conventional laser therapy which are usually 300 watts.
Cold Laser therapy may be administered by several different types of providers, including physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, or occupational therapists. It is generally provided in a physician’s office or other outpatient setting with no anesthesia or sedation needed.
